The Rudolf Kalman Foundation for Óbuda University, Óbuda University, and the Municipality of Zsámbék have set the goal of establishing an innovation center where research and development experts experiment with and produce future technologies in the fields of cybersecurity, 5G/6G, artificial intelligence, medical technology, AR/VR, and robotics. This initiative aims to strengthen the domestic industry and support companies operating in the region, enhancing the university's technology transfer activities both in Hungary and abroad.
Supported by the government, the investment involves a brownfield development project to rehabilitate the area of the former Hungarian barracks. Despite its currently highly neglected condition, the site holds significant potential for industrial development, with one of its key advantages being its accessible location near the capital.
The long-term goal of the project is to develop the region. To achieve this, the Municipality of Zsámbék, which supports the investment, can facilitate industrial development and social inclusion, following the scientific activities of Óbuda University.
